June Greenawalt

June Greenawalt is a 40 year veteran dance instructor. She started dancing at the age of 3 with Lou Ann Young in Anderson, Indiana. She was a performer with Young Ballet Theatre and was also instructed by Ms. Young’s teacher Margaret Saul, who taught such distinguished companies as the London Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada. Ms. Greenawalt graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Dance and a minor in Ballet and performed with various regional dance companies in the east. She later moved to California where she studied Jazz and Hip Hop at the Debbie Reynolds Studio and the Edge in Hollywood. She started teaching for Allan Hancock as a college instructor in 1983 where she taught Jazz, Hip Hop and Modern Dance. While there, she met Pat Jackson and began teaching for her at both the Atascadero and Arroyo Grande studios. For the last 14 years, June was an owner of Class Act Dance in Paso Robles, where she developed the jazz and hip hop programs leading them to great success. Winning both regional and national awards taking them on cruises to Mexico, Las Vegas and New York. She was one of the key instructors of Jesus Solorio, Season 3 finalist of “So You Think You Can Dance”. The last award was in July of 2011 where she and her business partner Bob Woodard and teacher Jasmine Woodjack won Choreographers of the year for Kid’s Artistic Revue Nationals in Las Vegas. June is a National Dance judge for Showbiz Dance and Talent Competitions, one of the oldest and most respected competitions in the country. She flies to many locations to judge and adjudicate various dance studios. Ms. Greenawalt is truly excited to present Paso Robles with this new and exciting artistic endeavor known as “Artistry in Motion Performing Arts Studio”.
